The goal of our surety and fidelity team is to provide the highest level of legal knowledge to our clients in a timely and cost effective manner. Emphasis is placed on accessibility and responsiveness. We have been able to achieve excellent results in the investigation of claims, in preparing cases for trial and in mediating, arbitrating and litigating bond claims.

Fidelity Bonds. Furthermore, our experience in a broad range of employment law disputes including all assertions of wrongful termination, employee misconduct including alleged embezzlement, fraud and downloading of child pornography, to name but a few areas of our experience, enable us to represent sureties in fidelity bond claims across a wide spectrum of disciplines and coverages.

Construction/Surety. The successful handling of a construction case requires an understanding of a variety of contractual environments as well as experience in the different forums in which cases are resolved. Unlike someone experiences simply in general liability defense, a construction attorney must be familiar with the plans, specifications, general conditions, and contractual requirements which govern the outcome of construction projects and disputes.

Wagonheim & Associates attorneys are extremely conversant with all AIA environments (including lump sum/not-to-exceed, design-build, and time and materials), but also with custom-tailored contracts and the newer ConsensusDOCS family of contracts. We have not only worked in the negotiation and drafting of construction contracts (for projects ranging from religious, municipal and commercial structures), but we have lectured extensively on the features and pitfalls of these contracts to public and private construction audiences throughout the State of Maryland.
